You have taught me a lot with your words. I found your write-up when I googled "St. Augustine Restless". I think that I found the essense of what it means through you. I came to the words of St. Augustine from a differant point in life. I am a 37 year-old dad of two small children. I have found that right person and have been with her for many years. When you are in your late 30s the challenge of life switches from "What will I become?" to "I have become who I am. Now what? Is this all there is?" I guess the bad news (or good news?) for you is that when you do find the right person, that hole in your heart is still there. I think it is a good reminder that our relationships, even though they are vital to our lives, will never provide the complete fullfullment that we expect from them. It is true that we are created for God and only in God will we find true belonging (rest?). Thank you for this write-up. You have taught me a lot with your words.
